Remember that song from retro Sesame Street?
"...they're the people that you meet when you're walkin' down the street. They're the people that you meet each day..." It's about acknowledging everyone from the guy in the suit to the guy on the street. Love it. I have taken note at just how many people I have been meeting lately. Some very unexpected meetings and some that felt like they were supposed to happen. So aware of the energy I give off and the kind of people I am attracting. When I surround myself with people that are driven, focused and on a path I find myself to be inspired and motivated. Sometimes it's easy to take forgranted your life's path and get complacent and too familiar - these people remind me to keep that fire lit and to keep moving forward and upward! This applies to music and this very special path that lies ahead....

I can hardly believe that my 5 song EP is nearing completion. Three songs are already in mastering with the great Carlos Arias. Two songs had trumpet added yesterday by the very talented Malcolm Aiken. CD should be completed by August at the latest. Such an exciting time as I have been needing a product to share with all of you...thank you for your patience as I walked this journey...I can't wait for you to hear it!
Music has a higher purpose. You just have to listen and pay attention. Look around you. Watch peoples' faces when the music begins. Take notice of how eyes light up, smiles appear and bodies move. Nothing else has the ability to do this to human beings. You cannot put a person in a space, turn on music, and have no reaction. Now of course, we all have musical preferences but seriously folks... chances are that life for all of us would become less enjoyable and far less interesting without this very precious gift.
So the next time you listen to music, try to appreciate it for what it is. For it has a soul, breath, emotion and life form... listen carefully...it will speak to you on some level. And you will not be the same person you were before the music played! |
