Jessaii is shifting and returning to her name: Jessi Kohoutek
Her middle name is Kohoutek which was named after COMET KOHOUTEK.
Comet Kohoutek (pronounced "ko-HU-tek" /koʊˈhuːtɛk/, or "ko-ho-tek" /koʊhoʊtɛk/),[b] formally designated as C/1973 E1, 1973 XII and 1973f,[c] is a comet that passed close to the Sun towards the end of 1973. Early predictions of the comet's peak brightness suggested that it had the potential to become one of the brightest comets of the 20th century, capturing the attention of the wider public and the press and earning the comet the moniker of "Comet of the Century".
During growth, change is inevitable....
The name "Jessaii" was born during a stage of life where I was just getting started creating roots reggae music. At the time it felt right. Aligned.
As I have encountered some life changes and very transformative times,
the name no longer feels like it fits.
I have decided to return to my actual name, Jessi. And my middle name... Kohoutek - which was the name of a comet that flew very close to the earth during the time I was born...
"Medicine Band"... this part comes from the fact that I have always referred to music as the medicine. The thing that is always there and never leaves you. The soothing for the soul and connection to something much bigger than ourselves. Can be a part of the healing process.
